Papierfabriek Doetinchem BV, Netherlands

Papierfabriek Doetinchem BV, a Dutch mill producing 100% recycled lightweight (MG) papers, automated bale wire removal with a Dewiring machine to improve safety and infeed to pulping.

Challenge

The mill handles many bale sizes and tying styles in a tight stock-prep/pulping area, making manual wire cutting unsafe, labor-intensive, and hard to standardize.

Solution

A modular Bale Dewiring Machine was retrofitted to cut, remove, and coil bale wires automatically, fitting the limited space and keeping the investment lean by selecting only essential options.

Key takeaway

Immediate gains in safety and efficiency with less manual work and smoother stock preparation – processing up to ~40 bales per hour and endorsed by the mill’s production team.

We saw the improvements for our process straight away when we started to use the Dewiring Machine.
